Overview
Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, theCounselor lwill review of main responsibilities. TheCounselor lwill work (days) on a per diem basis out of Helio Health’s Binghamton Inpatient Detoxprogram.
Pay rate: $22 per hour
Responsibilities

Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.

Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.

Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.

Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required AND demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status:

QHP status includes active enrolment in CASAC or Associate’s or Bachelor’s level Human Services program.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with CASAC-T preferred.

One year counseling/human services experience preferred.

Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.

Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling.

Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
