Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting and coordinating with Lending Personnel the processing of applications for consumer, mortgage and other types of loans made by the Credit Union. Informs members about availability of services provided by Southwest Montana Community FCU, answers basic lending questions from members and directs them to the appropriate lending staff. Inputs and updates loan data into credit union computer system for all loan products. Assembles and verifies loan documents for

accuracy. Handle all facets of forced placed insurance programs. Monitors insurance submitted by members for real estate and vehicle loans. Provide quality member service through the timely loan application processing and member inquiry/problem resolution. Courses and/or training may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Expectations:

Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.

-Process loan applications for all types of loans made by the Credit Union. This encompasses assisting loan officers in obtaining verifications or information such as credit bureau, employers, and other sources in order to check applicants’ credit and personal references, and generating of the necessary information to enable the credit request to be assessed.

-Check value of member collateral to be held as loan security

-Monitor insurance coverage for vehicle and real estate loans to ensure adequate coverage to protect the Credit Union. -Process satisfactions/waivers of mortgages and submit new mortgages. Institute action to file liens on vehicles and track timely receipt of titles and legal documents for real estate loans.

-Order title work, calculate loan payoffs, and prepare related documents for loan disbursals.

-Perform related operational and administrative functions relating to all loans, including updating loan data, assembling documentation for member loan files, ensure loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates and other relevant data.

-Ensure loan documents are complete and accurate according to policies and requirements as set out in regulation, including but not limited to checking for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures.

-Accept payment on accounts

-Provide inbound call support as needed

-Obtain and maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services, this includes answering basic member inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories, while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.

-Coordinate with other departments and refer members to departments/personnel providing specialized services as necessary.

-Obtain and maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge and abide by all Credit Union related policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Know Your Member, robbery, safety and security procedures.

-Follow all credit union policies and procedures.

-Represent the credit union in a positive and professional manner with all people including fellow employees, members, management, board members and outside vendors.

-Attends and participates in meetings as required.

-Completes required courses as assigned for ongoing compliance and continuing education.

-Report to work on time each scheduled day.

Education and/or Experience:

-High school diploma or GED

-1-3 yrs. experience in lending, sales and customer or member service

-Equivalent combination of education and experience

-Related work experience may substitute for education
