Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer specializing in aerospace gear pump design and development to join a high-performing engineering team supporting advanced hydraulic and fluid power systems. This individual will lead the design, analysis, testing, and qualification of gear pumps and related hydraulic components used in critical aerospace applications. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in mechanical design, hydraulic systems, tribology, materials, sealing technologies, and aerospace qualification processes. This role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, quality, testing, and program teams to develop reliable, high-performance products that meet demanding aerospace standards and certification requirements.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline. 5+ years of engineering experience designing and developing hydraulic, fluid power, or gear pump systems. Experience with aerospace hydraulic systems and mechanical component design. Strong understanding of: Fluid dynamics and hydraulic systems Materials engineering Sealing technologies Tribology and wear mechanisms Tolerance analysis and GD&T Experience with CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar. Experience supporting product testing, validation, and qualification activities. Ability to conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations. Strong technical documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience working in a regulated engineering environment. Aerospace industry experience with hydraulic pump development. Experience with aerospace qualification standards and certification requirements. Familiarity with FMEA, DFMEA, and reliability engineering principles. Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational engineering tools. Experience supporting military or commercial aircraft programs. Six Sigma, Lean, or continuous improvement certifications. Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining and precision assembly.
