Full job description

JOB GOAL: The role of the adapted physical education (APE) teacher includes but is not limited to assessing and identifying an individual's needs; collaborating or consulting with other service providers; and providing direct Adapted Physical Education service. The APE teacher facilitates the development of gross motor skills and general physical fitness for qualified students with disabilities (SWDs). JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Certification/License Required: Valid Georgia Teacher Certificate; Preferred Certification in Health/Physical Education
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Written and oral communication; planning, organization
  • The role of the adapted physical education teacher includes but is not limited to assessing and identifying an individual's needs; collaborating or consulting with other service providers; and providing direct Adapted Physical Education service.
