Loss Mitigation Specialist

Description We are looking for a Loss Mitigation Specialist to support mortgage servicing operations in Texas. This contract position focuses on reviewing hardship situations, evaluating workout solutions, and helping ensure accounts are handled in line with investor and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, clear communication skills, and experience managing time-sensitive case activity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess borrower financial circumstances and review supporting documents to determine appropriate loss mitigation options.

• Communicate with borrowers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to move files forward and clarify outstanding items.

• Prepare, update, and maintain case records with accurate notes, status changes, and required documentation.

• Evaluate loan files for completeness and compliance with servicing standards, program rules, and applicable regulations.

• Coordinate the progression of active accounts to help meet service level expectations and resolution timelines.

• Respond to inquiries related to workout options, application status, and required next steps in a thorough manner.

• Identify missing information or processing issues and take action to resolve them efficiently.

• Support operational changes, including updates to workflows or internal platforms, as needed within assigned responsibilities. Requirements • Prior experience in loss mitigation, mortgage servicing, or a closely related financial services role.

• Working knowledge of borrower assistance programs, foreclosure alternatives, and loan workout processes.

• Ability to analyze financial documents and make sound decisions based on established guidelines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and professionally.

• High level of accuracy and organization when managing multiple files and deadlines.

• Proficiency with standard business systems and case management tools used in servicing environments.
