Job Summary The RN-Sepsis Program Manager is a market level position reporting to the Chief Quality Officer of Prisma Health. This position leads the development, implementation, and oversight of Prisma Health’s regional sepsis program for applicable clinical sites within the defined market. Key responsibilities include identifying care variation opportunities, validating SEP-1 data abstraction, maintaining population specific sepsis initiatives, and supporting prehospital care quality assurance. The role also involves compiling and updating annual sepsis education, managing the sepsis toolkit and program charter, and serving as a liaison for EMS education.

This role works closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams, driving rapid-cycle improvement, developing action plans, and collaborating with corporate and campus-level stakeholders. Additional duties include EMR tool development, addressing urgent opportunities for improvement, and serving as a subject matter expert for quality and safety reviews. Data analysis and dissemination of current sepsis standards to key stakeholders are essential. This role will also engage with internal and external research collaborations.

  • Performance ImprovementAction plan developmentRapid cycle change engineerIn-person presence at campus level for engagement with team-member and leadersEMR tool development and review for navigators, order sets, Best Practice Alerts (BPAs), etc.Addressing urgent opportunities for improvement (OFIs) in a timely manner
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME)Regional sepsis leader across multidisciplinary team with focus on ensuring each stakeholder is well representedKeep up to date with current sepsis practice standards and relay relevant information to key stakeholdersSME for campus quality leads who lead sepsis task forces (ensures continuance of task force in leadership vacuum)SME for patient safety reviews related to sepsis careAd-hoc SME meeting attendance for Comprehensive Sepsis Center (CSC) workCampus quality presentations of current sepsis work
  • Care Delivery AnalystData compilation for sepsis care (observed mortality, hospice dispositions, means of arrival, etc.)Data synthesis and analysis (identifying trends in sepsis care, pathway adherence, etc.)
  • Research & EducationResearcher for collaborative efforts both inside and outside institution (graduate degree required)Annual sepsis education compilation, review, and updatesPre-hospital liaison and education for sepsis care deliveryDevelopment and maintenance of sepsis toolkit/program charter
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Master's Degree in Nursing, Business or Healthcare Administration, or related health care field
  • Experience - Three (3) years-in Nursing. Experience in intensive care or ED Nursing preferred.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working with Excel, databases preferred
  • Experience working with patients with a diagnosis of sepsis in an ICU setting or ED setting preferred
