Summary:

The Staff Nurse of a certified Cardiac Rehabilitation program works collaboratively with interdisciplinary members to assist clients and families in reaching client goals and uses best practice nursing standards in all aspects of care planning, monitoring and delivery. The Staff Nurse`s knowledge base includes all clinical components of cardiovascular health and interventions, program operations, and marketing of program for effective referrals. Functions as support staff for all wellness programming.

Responsibilities:

Primary customers include: patients, family members, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, volunteers, students and community. Works closely with program medical directors, program director, dietitian, psychologist, vocational rehab and other staff as required. Responsible for supporting the wellness programs for the community and for, providing excellent customer service and ensuring patient confidentiality.

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE

One year experience in critical care, ED, or cardiac rehabilitation required.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

RN license in the state of NC. BLS/ACLS required. Certified cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) within 1 year of employment required.

OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Cardiac monitoring expertise required. Computer skills, public speaking, and ability to lead group exercise classes. Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration on interdisciplinary team. CPR Instructor certification at hire or within 6 months.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast paced environment. Works primarily in gym setting, loud music, may perform emergency care. Moves equipment. Community settings for risk factor education.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Walking, standing, sitting, use of computer, reaching, some lifting, talking, hearing and visual ability essential. Will lead group exercise classes.
