REQ-1786

At Associated Electric Cooperative, we're committed to providing reliable energy to the communities we serve with passion and precision. We're a tight-knit team dedicated to keeping the lights on and the energy flowing smoothly across our expansive network!

From technical to operational to professional disciplines, our team brings a wide variety of skills, talents, and expertise to the table. We believe in both dedicating ourselves to excellence and investing in your growth.

As Director, Load Integration, you will lead the integration and ongoing management of Associated Electric Cooperative’s large-load member relationships, connecting commercial, technical, operational, financial and contractual priorities across the cooperative. You’ll lead through influence across diverse teams, to create alignment, anticipate risk, drive decisions and establish scalable practices that support reliable member service and AECI’s long-term strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end integration of large-load member relationships, from contract administration and project readiness through ongoing operations and performance.

  • Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, system operations, transmission, planning, energy marketing, finance, legal, risk and other teams, driving accountability and results through influence rather than formal reporting authority.

  • Oversee obligations and milestones associated with energy service, interconnection and operating agreements.

  • Coordinate readiness for energization, load ramp, commissioning and ongoing operations while keeping complex, multi-year initiatives moving forward.

  • Build trusted relationships with member leadership and ensure significant commercial, technical and operational issues are addressed effectively.

  • Provide senior leaders with clear insight into performance, risks and decisions while developing repeatable standards for future large-load integration.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, energy or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the electric utility, energy, transmission, commercial or related field.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional work through influence, accountability and sound decision-making.

  • Working knowledge of electric utility operations, including power supply, transmission, interconnection, system operations, planning and reliability.

  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting and administering complex commercial and technical agreements.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organizational skills, with success operating independently in complex or evolving situations.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of AECI’s three-tier membership structure and cooperative business model.

  • Experience leading large-scale utility projects, complex customer integrations or strategic energy initiatives.
