Job Summary: The Tax and Settlement Analyst documents and manages all outstanding sales and use tax claims with the Oklahoma Tax Commission (OTC) and Workday settlements for all payments, expense reports, and customer credit card payments and refunds. This role supports the Internal Audit Department as needed.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, preferred.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare. Prior exposure to sales tax, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with both raw data and various Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) operating systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Prepares Workday settlement runs including coordination with financial services team members to resolve issues that include: supplier and miscellaneous payments, Automated Clearing House (ACH), checks, wires, auto withdrawals, insurance and patient refunds, expense payments and customer invoices/refunds. Reviews all new items within the item master to ensure they have the proper tax and Spend Code designation. Coordinates with Supply Chain Team if changes are needed on existing items to ensure proper taxation. Serves as primary contact for the OTC regarding questions or additional support for outstanding sales and use tax claims owed to SFHS. Manages all payments received for the OTC to ensure our records align with their payment and that the customer account for OTC is accurate and reconciled to the tax department's records of outstanding claims each month. Manages the direct pay process with suppliers that have been identified as suppliers ensuring they will hold our direct pay certificate instead of charging us applicable sales tax. Provides certificates to new suppliers and ensures all certificates get renewed and redistributed every 3 years. Performs other projects assigned by the Internal Audit Team.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Working Relationships: Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
