Child Development Worker
PRN
Child Development Center
The Child Development Center at Baptist Health Lexington provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for c hildren of employees. Our program offers age-appropriate learning experiences, structured activities, and compassionate care designed to support each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Through strong communication with families and a commitment to excellence, the center promotes a positive and enriching experience for every child in our care.
Responsible for supervision and planning for a group of c hildren while maintaining a safe and nurturing learning environment in which c hildren can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively.
Job Description:
Have knowledge of developmental milestones appropriate for the age group and will effectively assess readiness of c hildren in the class.
Collect information to prepare daily lesson plans.
Maintain supplies and materials needed for activities.
Document daily attendance.
Prepare accident/incident reports.
Maintain proper medication authorization and administration forms.
Ensure health, CPR/first aid certificates and annual training certificates (15 per year hire date to hire date) are on file.
Communicate effectively with c hildren, families and staff.
Resolve conflicts between c hildren.
Encourage exploration, self-awareness, play based learning, and emotional wellbeing.
Use appropriate forms of guidance (i.e. redirecting and encouraging positivechoice making for preschool age c hildren).
Utilize developmentally appropriate practice strategies at all times (including fostering independence where appropriate, scaffolding, and asking c hildren open- ended questions, fostering and encouraging language development in younger c hildren).
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
