Full job description

The Equipment & Supply Clerk is a Civil-Service position with the Nashville Fire Department. Performs responsible duties involving ordering, stocking, issuing, and delivering equipment and supplies to all NFD’s personnel and facilities.

***Employees may be required to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  • Review requests for supplies and equipment.
  • Assemble orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Distribute supplies and assist with inventory controls.
  • Keep accurate records.
  • Recover and clean contaminated, re-usable equipment left at area facilities.
  • Receive supplies from vendors (unload trucks).
  • Assist with coordinating delivery dates with vendors.
  • Stock supply room.
  • Minor equipment repair.
  • Deliver and pick-up vehicles to/from repair shop.
  • Maintain computer inventory of supplies and equipment.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Required License: Valid Driver License

Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.• Experience with inventory maintenance procedures
