The Opportunity: The Infrastructure (IT) Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, network infrastructure, servers, security systems, and communication technologies. This role helps ensure the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the company's IT systems to support daily business operations. The Infrastructure Engineer also identifies opportunities for system improvements and recommends solutions to enhance performance and reliability. This is an onsite opportunity at either our Sauk Rapids or Winsted location.

Job Title: Infrastructure (IT) Engineer

Location: onsite in either Sauk Rapids, MN or Winsted, MN -- will be supporting both locations.

Salary Range: $89,133 - $107,584/year (Exempt)

(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)

Schedule: Monday - Friday Business Hours

Shift Differential: 1st shift – N/A

Key Roles and Responsibilities as an Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Network Management & Connectivity

  • System & Storage Infrastructure

  • Infrastructure Applications & Services

  • Vendor Management

  • Site Technology Integration

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

  • Install, test, document, and maintain local area network systems, resolving hardware and software issues

  • Responsible for network stability and uptime

  • Monitor infrastructure usage and plan for capacity upgrades, proactively identifying areas for improvement and modernization

  • Manage company firewall and other technologies supporting security

  • Prioritize activities and manage projects to ensure timely, on-scope, and on-budget delivery

  • Effective interaction with multiple levels of the organization in supporting assignments – SLT leadership, front office and indirect staff, production leads/supervisors and shop floor operators

  • Act as the highest level of technical escalation for complex infrastructure issues. Mentor junior team members informally through knowledge sharing and guidance

  • Evaluates hardware and software options for compatibility, performance, and business requirements to support organizational needs

  • Assist with external vendor interactions

  • Stay updated on advancements in technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Maintain and manage communications solutions

Role Qualifications as an Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Preferred candidates will have either a 4-year college degree in an IT-related field, or relevant work experience

  • Preferred candidates will have 8+ years of relevant experience in network administration, Storage Solutions, and server management

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of IT Infrastructure and Security, including industry best practices

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and influence key stakeholders and team members

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Able to effectively manage projects and additional tasks

  • Strong customer service orientations

Technology and computer competencies include:

  • Network Management and security best practices

  • Hypervisor & Virtualization deployment and management (VMWare)

  • Microsoft Server

  • Dell storage management

  • Disaster Recovery best practices and design

  • Office 365 and Azure

  • Phone/Security systems management
