  • High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

  • Prior experience in higher education, government, and/or a professional office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certification(s) or training that enhance the ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Successful candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals

  • Have a working knowledge of telephone and customer service etiquette

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and to take initiative and see a project through

  • Ability to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines, and the ability to be flexible

  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Exercises good judgment and discretion when assisting customers

  • Requires excellent editing and computer skills, i.e., proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Publisher)

  • Proficiency in utilizing virtual meeting and collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex) to schedule, host, and effectively participate in remote meetings.

  • Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work

  • Sufficient skill in typing to complete 60 wpm accuracy

  • Organizational and problem-solving skills

The temporary professional position(s) provide support for university operations and initiatives within the assigned department/division. The position(s) are designed to meet short-term staffing needs and may involve a wide range of administrative, programmatic, or project-based responsibilities. The position(s) are expected to contribute to the effective delivery of university services, maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures, and provide responsive, high-quality support that advances departmental priorities and the overall mission of the institution.
