Shift: Full-time, Days, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, for 80 hours per pay period.

We’re looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Surgery Testing team . In this role, you’ll help prepare patients for upcoming procedures, provide education and reassurance, coordinate care, and make sure every patient is ready for surgery—physically and confidently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operative nursing assessments and review medical histories, medications, and test results.

  • Educate patients and families about surgical preparation, medications, procedures, and what to expect.

  • Identify potential concerns or risks and communicate findings to the appropriate care team.

  • Coordinate pre-surgical testing, appointments, and follow-up needs.

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, perioperative teams, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that helps patients feel informed, prepared, and supported.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 months of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency

  • Previous critical care experience preferred

License/Certification:

  • Must hold an active, Registered Nurse licensure issued by the Iowa Board of Nursing
