Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Management team in Portland, OR.

Work Schedule: Monday - Wednesday 10:00am-4pm, Occasional Weekend coverage if needed

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.

  • Resolve internal & external customer requests via instant messenger & email communications

  • Communicates with other department and labs in respectful and professional manner.

  • Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.

  • Provide education and information as needed.

  • Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.

  • Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.

  • Accurately identify and label specimens.

  • Pack and ship specimens as necessary.

  • Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

  • Pull and prepare samples for add on test requests.

  • Assist with resolution of problems out to clients for patient recollections.

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification:

  • Current or prior Labcorp experience

  • Associates degree

  • 6 months of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal

  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

  • Comfortable handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
