Overview

This position is responsible for technical leadership in supporting the Company's efforts to meet Federal Cyber (Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements), Operations and Planning (O&P) requirements as well as other federal compliance programs. These efforts include serving as the lead technical expert for all CIP and O&P activities, such as audit preparations, incident reviews/self-reports, Technical Feasibility Exceptions, review of new standards, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts. The position leads Company efforts to interpret CIP and O&P regulatory requirements and implement industry best practices. The position also promotes consistency of technical compliance processes among various lines of business. This position is also responsible for the records retention program.

Responsibilities

•CIP and O&P standards.

•Lead all Company FERC compliance programs, including for topics such as market manipulation, standards of conduct for transmission providers, affiliate restrictions, and natural gas compliance. Develop new FERC compliance programs as needed to manage the Company’s risk.

•Interpret CIP and O&P Standards serving as lead technical advisor to senior management.

•Prepare analysis of and communicate the impact of new versions of CIP and O&P standards for senior management while maintaining a thorough understanding of industry activities associated with current federal compliance requirements.

•Promote consistency across lines of business while championing cross functional issues.

•Serve as lead technical expert for audit preparation, incident reviews, self-reports, TFE’s, NERC alerts, etc. to support the line of business efforts.

•Support Federal Regulatory Compliance Department development, maintenance, and documentation of compliance training.

•Provide technical guidance to lines of business to support timely implementation of requirements.

•Drive initiatives to establish procedure standardization/hierarchy.

•Serve as consultant to senior management including the provision of technical reviews, updates, and communications.

•Represent Company as a liaison with SERC, NERC and FERC working teams.

•Lead the Company’s records retention program

•Reviews and approves all work performed by subordinate staff or consultants.

•Lead and develop personnel supporting the above accountabilities.

•Perform above and other duties as directed by Director, Environmental and Federal Regulatory Compliance.

•Performs other duties as assigned

•Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT or Business

Required Experience

10+ years of experience in IT, SCADA and/or telecommunications infrastructure, including security issues

Preferred Qualifications

•Advanced degree

•Regulatory compliance, interpretation, standards review and audit controls experience

•CIP-specific knowledge and experience

•Some CIP- related IT experience

•Strong analytical, documentation and time management skills.

Remote Work
