Executive Creative Director
About the Role:
We're looking for an Executive Creative Director to lead creative for Medforth and its institutions, including St. George's University (SGU) and Rocky Vista University (RVU). This is the most senior creative role on the marketing team, and it's a strategic one. We need someone who can take a business goal, whether that's enrollment, brand, or a new campaign, and turn it into creative that actually gets people to act.
They'll set the creative vision and raise the bar on the work. They'll lead the creative team, direct our biggest campaigns, and own the relationships with our outside agencies and partners. And they'll make sure the work is strong and that it ships. A great idea doesn't help us if it takes two weeks and misses the moment. They'll also keep the team ready to handle the last-minute requests and shifting priorities that come with our enrollment calendar, without dropping the quality bar or losing the bigger plan.
They'll report to the VP, Global Growth Marketing, and own how Medforth shows up and performs across every channel.
Medforth Group, also known as Medforth Global Healthcare Education, is a portfolio company focused on healthcare education. Medforth's institutions are the single largest supplier of new doctors into U.S. residencies each year. Our mission is to address the global physician shortage, with a particular focus on the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Strategy
-
Take our marketing and enrollment goals and turn them into creative strategy and campaigns that drive results, not just creative that looks good.
-
Set the creative vision and quality bar for Medforth and its institutions, and hold the team to it.
-
Own the brand: the identity, the voice, and how it shows up across SGU, RVU, and the rest of the portfolio.
Lead the Creative Function
-
Lead the in-house creative team (design, video, and creative operations) along with our freelance and agency partners.
-
Set clear creative direction, give feedback that makes the work better, and make the final call.
-
Build and develop the team, bring in the right talent, and put people in the roles that fit their strengths.
Campaigns and Conversion
-
Lead concepting and direction for brand and enrollment campaigns across video, digital, and social.
-
Tie the creative to the numbers, conversion, engagement, and enrollment, and use what they learn to make the next round stronger.
-
Partner with performance, brand, communications, and admissions so everything pulls in the same direction.
Agencies and Partners
-
Select and contract the agencies and freelancers for strategic work — rebrands, launches, campaign overhauls, and video — and own those relationships.
-
Decide when to bring on a new agency or specialist and set the scope, budget, and terms, including any AI-assisted production partners.
-
Hold the sole final call on creative quality: after the operations gate, nothing ships — in-house or external — without their sign-off.
Standards and Innovation
-
Keep the brand consistent everywhere it shows up, and make sure the guidelines actually get used.
-
Stay ahead on tools, trends, and technology, including AI, and decide how the team puts them to work.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
15+ years in creative leadership, including real experience running a team across design, video, and content.
-
A track record of creative that drove business results, not just a strong portfolio. Enrollment, brand, or demand-driven experience is a plus.
-
A strategic thinker who can turn a business goal into creative that converts.
-
A real leader who can build a team, develop people, and raise the level of the work.
-
Just as comfortable owning quality as owning deadlines.
-
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, experienced directing video and motion, and fluent in modern and AI tools.
-
Experience managing agencies and freelancers.
-
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
