THE SALVATION ARMY MISSION STATEMENT:

PAY RATE: $18.54 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Salvation Army officer or minister with some experience in counseling. • Highschool Diploma or GED required. • Must be able to pass a background / motor vehicle records check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Conduct Chapel services as requested by the Administrator on Wednesday night, Sunday morning and other special occasions.
  2. Prepare Sunday and Wednesday Chapel bulletin.
  3. Arrange programs and assignments for participants of Chapel services.
  4. Arrange to counsel all seekers who go to the altar at chapel services.
  5. Be available for counsel and prayer at all times, and especially after Wednesday and Sunday services.
  6. Coordinate and conduct bible study on scheduled night.
  7. Interview all incoming clients. Acquaint them with the religious programs of The Salvation Army.
  8. Work with the Program Department in relationship to the spiritual needs of beneficiaries.
  9. Maintain confidentiality as needed and required for the operation of the total program.
  10. Overtime. Any and all overtime must have the written approval of the supervisor, Administrator or his/her designee. Authorizing initials must appear on the timecard beside the overtime hours.
  11. Other written or verbal duties as may be assigned by the Administrator or his/her designate.
