Villa of Hope is looking for a Talent and Culture Intern to join our team!

For more than 70 years, Villa of Hope has been helping youth and their families regain control over lives that seem like they are lost. With the help of a team of fiercely dedicated staff members, youth and families can rebuild relationships, recover the potential that they possessed before, and renew their power to move their lives in a positive direction.

Summary

The Human Resources Intern will provide support for the daily operations of the Human Resources Department with attention to the recruitment, onboarding and project planning areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists T&C Business Partners in recruitment activities/events

  • Review resumes in ADP to recruit qualified individuals for open positions

  • Conduct over-the-phone prescreen interviews with external applicants

  • Assists Talent and Culture Team with new employee orientation

  • Maintains accuracy of, and updates employee personnel files in accordance with company policies and government regulations

  • Enters training data into SharePoint database to keep employee records current

  • Actively participates in the T&C team’s work session (if intern hours permit)

  • Partners with Director of Organization and Talent Development to evaluate the agency’s internship program

  • Files documents and answers phone calls

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

Strong oral, written and interactive communication skills are a must. Intern should be skilled in effective research tactics and good organization. Candidate must also have the ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and convey a positive and professional image to both internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must be currently enrolled a Human Resources or Business degree program (Associate’s or Bachelors’ level is preferred). Knowledge of U.S. labor laws, and recruitment and onboarding best practices is preferred.
