Full job description

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of general musculoskeletal skills. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care. Applicants must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Candidates should bring to this position expertise through special experiences or additional fellowship training in Interventional Spine, Pain Management or Musculoskeletal Medicine.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and mentoring of Penn medical students and residents as well as allied professionals.

Clinical responsibilities may include working closely with other surgical and non-surgical teams to provide coordinated interdisciplinary care for patients as part of our Spine Center.

Selected candidates must have excellent, well refined interpersonal skills and leadership abilities to effectively lead our interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Candidates should have strong clinical training, enthusiasm, and a commitment to furthering our clinical services and advancing our academic missions. As an academic faculty member, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide outstanding teaching and mentoring for Penn medical students and residents as well as allied professionals.
