Job Overview

Plasma Cutting & Grinding Operator

Location: Monroe, WI

Pay: $22/hr

The Plasma Cutting & Grinding Operator is responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment and grinding tools to cut, shape, and finish metal components according to production specifications. This position requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and maintaining consistent quality and production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plasma cutting machines to cut metal components to specified dimensions.

  • Set up and adjust plasma cutting equipment according to job requirements.

  • Operate grinders and other finishing tools to remove sharp edges, burrs, and excess material.

  • Inspect finished parts for proper dimensions, quality, and appearance.

  • Read and follow blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production instructions.

  • Measure materials using calipers, tape measures, gauges, and other tools.

  • Identify and report defective materials or equipment issues.

  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.

  • Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Previous experience with plasma cutting, grinding, or metal fabrication preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and work instructions.

  • Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to safely handle metal materials and operate industrial equipment.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
