Job Description
This entry-level manufacturing role focuses on supporting production operations by carefully following detailed procedures and documentation to clean large industrial machinery, manage graphite part replacement, and maintain accurate machine clean records. You ensure all work meets strict safety, quality, and 5S standards while working in a magnetic field environment and around complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The position is part-time on the night shift, requiring strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
Responsibilities

Follow complex, detailed procedures and documentation to complete daily cleaning of large industrial machinery safely, accurately, and on time.

Manage graphite part replacement, including handling, moving, and tracking graphite components according to established process requirements.

Complete all machine clean records and maintain daily 5S standards for assigned areas to meet clean room and production requirements.
-
Review daily machine clean lists and create a schedule to ensure all required cleans are performed at the appropriate times.
-
Use a computer and keyboard to input data, track work, and complete computerized forms related to graphite part replacement and equipment cleaning.
-
Continuously monitor and verify that all data, setups, and processes meet quality and area requirements during and after each process step.

Understand and follow product specifications, Standard Work Procedures (SWPs), Response Flow Charts (RFCs), control charts, and other process documentation.
-
Report and take action to prevent or stop variations, errors, or lapses in quality, ensuring issues are identified, documented, corrected, and not repeated.
-
Identify and communicate suggestions for process and safety improvements to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
-
Apply basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of percentages and decimals using a calculator.
-
Understand and follow all safety regulations, including proper use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and awareness of danger points in the process.
-
Immediately report all on-the-job accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and request guidance or training to maintain a safe work environment.
-
Use Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures to ensure machinery is properly de-energized when required.
-
Perform visual inspections of equipment and parts using close vision to identify defects, errors, and quality issues within arms length.
-
Prepare, analyze, and interpret data through extensive reading and visual inspection of small parts, fabrication details, words, and numbers.
-
Operate lift equipment to load, unload, raise, lower, and transport materials, products, and other equipment safely.
-
Move, lift, and open boxes filled with graphite parts weighing approximately 10200 pounds each, using proper handling tools and techniques.
-
Push carts on wheels weighing approximately 20275 pounds and move an average of 4,400 pounds of material within a 12-hour period twice (loading and unloading).
-
Cut open, lift, and move approximately 11 pounds of poly silicon rock pieces in a bag up to about 300 times during a 12-hour shift.
-
Exert up to and in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to move objects while walking, standing, and working throughout the shift.

Lift and raise objects from low to higher positions and move objects horizontally from place to place as required by the process.

Work in kneeling, bending, and crouching positions, including lifting parts and using hand tools while in these positions.

Perform repetitive motions such as grasping, reaching, pushing, and pulling during material handling and cleaning tasks.

Complete training on various handling tools for heavy parts and apply this training in daily operations.

Perform cleaning tasks on equipment and surrounding areas to meet clean room 5S standards, ensuring a well-organized and safe workspace.

Communicate effectively in English with management and co-workers, both verbally and in writing, to understand and explain instructions, procedures, and reports.

Collaborate in a team-oriented environment, supporting production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations.

Work overtime when required to support on-call needs, vacation coverage, absences, and other mandatory coverage requirements.

Work Environment
This is a part-time night shift role from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. with a 1-hour unpaid lunch, working three days per week on an alternating schedule: one week Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (approximately 28.5 hours), and the alternate week Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (approximately 38 hours). The environment is an active manufacturing and semiconductor production area with large industrial machinery, magnetic fields, hazardous and volatile chemicals, and a somewhat dirty and loud atmosphere. You work in production and clean room areas that require strict adherence to safety protocols and 5S standards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory in the production area, including safety glasses, nitrile gloves, protective sleeves, face shield, and composite toe safety shoes. Other areas may require additional PPE gowning such as clean room suits, coveralls, two-piece uniforms, or smocks; earplugs are optional, and additional PPE such as cotton or cut-resistant gloves may be required depending on the task. You regularly use lift equipment, handling tools for heavy parts, and common office technologies such as computers, calculators, copiers, scanners, and phones. The facility operates under very strict safety procedures, and you must be comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment with loud machinery and rigorous safety and cleanliness expectations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.28/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
