Sales Coordinator I - Intermodal

Job Description

The Sales Coordinator - Intermodal executes, tracks, and creates solutions for intermodal shipments secured by ArcBest. This position is fast paced, demanding, and requires time management skills and concentration. The Sales Coordinator - Intermodal has a vast array of responsibilities and is exposed to all aspects of transportation, intermodal, and brokerage operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with other employees, drivers, rail carriers and outside vendors to prevent potential problems and provide service to our customers.

• Develop strong working relationships with customers and vendors.

• Ensure that shipments are correctly rated and that all payables are posted.

• Help maintain rail schedules, railroad and dray company cost, and accessorials.

• Help maintain vendor profile information.

• Manage customer trailer pools and movement of equipment to avoid storage or detention costs and assist in the general accountability of equipment.

• Monitor freight activity and take appropriate action to resolve problems in order to ensure a high level of error free and on-time service.

• Provide customer service including any special reporting or customer website compliance.

• Secure and execution of dray capacity for unplanned/planed dray moves.

• Work directly with ArcBest Sales and Intermodal Carrier Sales Representatives to secure shipments.

• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree, preferred

• Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

• Prior intermodal operations experience, preferred

Computer Skills:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred

Other Details

Work Hours:

• Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Work hours vary based on scheduling to provide market coverage during normal business hours with irregular and on call hours.

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal (0%-25%)

Compensation:

• This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
