PDS is HIRING: Electronic Test Technician

Location: St. Louis, MO (Onsite — Climate-Controlled Facility)

Position Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire (Strong conversion potential)

Schedule: 5 days/week (Day Shift) Voluntary OT available

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you mechanically inclined with a foundational knowledge of electricity or control wiring? We are expanding our manufacturing team in St. Louis and looking for hands-on, detail-oriented individuals to assemble and wire high-quality control panels and cabinets for Emerson Automation Solutions .

Whether you are a trade school graduate, an entry-level technician with basic assembly knowledge, or an electrical engineering graduate who loves hands-on work, this is an excellent opportunity to launch a long-term career with a industry leader.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Panel Assembly & Wiring: Wire and assemble electrical control panels, cabinets, and inner pans following engineered wiring schematics.

  • Component Installation: Install electrical hardware, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, DIN rails, and grounding systems.

  • Mechanical Fabrication: Perform layout modifications, including enclosure cutouts, inner pan prep, and mounting.

  • Conduit & Tubing: Assist with cutting, reaming, bending, and threading conduit and tubing inside control houses and installed equipment.

  • Wire Processing: Cut, strip, crimp, label, and terminate wires according to standard electrical color codes and industry specs.

  • Quality & Inspection: Collaborate with team members to inspect finished panel builds for accuracy, neatness, and quality compliance.

A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE

  • Start the morning reviewing daily panel builds, schematics, and production goals.

  • Perform detailed wiring and assembly work on the production floor in a clean, climate-controlled setting (mostly seated wiring work).

  • Partner with peer technicians to ensure builds meet exact specs before final quality checks.

  • Focus on steadily building speed, precision, and product knowledge over time.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications:

  • Schematic Reading: Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and electrical symbols (Required — evaluated during interview) .

  • Electrical Fundamentals: Basic understanding of NEC guidelines and electrical components (breakers, grounding, relays).

  • Tool Proficiency: Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on comfort using hand and power tools.

  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 49 lbs and perform physical assembly tasks.

  • Safety Gear: Required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses while on the production floor.

Preferred Experience / Background:

  • Vocational/trade school coursework, electrical certification, or electrical engineering degree.

  • Some exposure to control cabinet wiring, panel assembly, or industrial electrical work.

  • Entry-level candidates with solid basic electrical knowledge are encouraged to apply! (Forklift experience is not required).

Pay Details: $22.59 per hour
