Job Overview

The Construction Safety Officer is responsible for promoting and ensuring safety practices on construction sites. This role involves conducting regular safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites.

  • Develop and implement safety training programs for all personnel.

  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports and incident logs.

  • Provide guidance and support to site management regarding safety issues.

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in construction safety or a similar role is highly desirable, along with relevant certifications such as OSHA or NEBOSH.
