Full job description

Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks a Database Administration Senior Advisor for the Austin, TX location to provide counsel and advice to top management on significant Database Administration & Management matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the most complex database systems for the organization.

  • Coordinates with senior leaders to determine requirements.

  • Analyze, design, create and implement complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security.

  • Interpret internal or external issues and recommends solutions/ best practices.

  • Design complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas.

  • Liaison with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems, and potential solutions.

  • Review systems under development and related documentation.

  • May participate in vendor selection and relationship management.

  • Lead project teams, monitoring project schedules and costs.

  • Focus on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.

  • Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex Database Administration assignments.

  • Hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in any database administration role. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.

  • Must have experience with: SolarWinds Orion; AWS; Oracle; PostgreSQL;

  • Database performance tuning; data replication tools including Oracle GoldenGate, Qlik Replicate, and IBM InfoSphere Data Replication;

  • Splunk; Dynatrace; service metrics dashboard creation;

  • Product lifecycle management; product upgrades; troubleshooting data mismatch issues; hybrid cloud environment management;

  • Creating solutions using Generative AI (Gen AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs); network encryption setup; and security compliance.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
