Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Information Technology Specialist, USASOC Force Modernization Center Headquarters, United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC)

Duties

• Analyze management and command requirements to identify potential solutions.
• Develop technical specifications for the identified solutions selected by the command.
• Advise staff on application of information technology with respect to software capabilities, limitations, and application
• Evaluate new technology to develop mid- and long-range plans involving hardware/network/software procurement and technology upgrades.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and posses the ability to gain additional associate level knowledge in this area

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (Systems Analysis /Applications Software): Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Experience with application of cloud technology, analytics, and cyber security; AND, 2.) Experience developing plans, procedures and standards regarding the application of information technology; AND, 3.) Experience with data management and at the edge compute capabilities; AND, 4.) General familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and machine learning; AND, 5.) Experience with enterprise level business systems and processes . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. This is a(n) Information Technology Management Career Program position aligned under the Operational Support Career Management Directorate. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. Student Loan Repayment, Advance in Hire, Relocation and Recruitment Incentive and Advance Leave Accrual may be authorized. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 YEARS. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
