Sr Staff Data Steward
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Staff Data Steward are to:

Responsible for the accuracy, reliability, and quality of data;
-
Provides insight and clarity into the proper use of data by understanding context and broad usage;
-
Additionally, engages and influences delivery of project objectives, socializes the data vision, engages with multiple groups to provide clarity on the data strategy;
-
Define the use cases that support business objectives and strategies and ensure data products and roadmaps are aligned to deliver the necessary response;
-
Define strategy and identify dependencies to enable re design of existing capability implementation(s) across the data landscape into target state architecture from legacy systems;
-
Provide leadership to drive design sessions with Stewards, Data Engineers, Engineering teams, Data Scientists, Product Managers, business and/or IT stakeholders, that result in design, governance documentation, data models and business metadata capture in CSW;

Understand and document end to end business capability needs, data flow and processes as they related to IT solutions;
-
Ability to identify gaps in requirements based on business subject matter domain expertise and work with Business stakeholders for defining and aligning on requirement completeness;
-
Accountable for building out scalable, high integrity, robust core models across capabilities in the Crop Science Data Warehouse;
-
Work collaboratively with application development teams, stakeholder groups, and regional hub stewards to translate data requirements into engineering requirements;
-
Lead discussions across business organizations, lines of business, countries/hubs to document business logic and sources of data. Lead Open Data efforts, making data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) to strengthen Bayer CS effectiveness in carrying out its mission;

Be able to make and influence decisions across other functional workstreams, global process owners for effective solution in Data Engineers Data Stewards Hub Data Teams Product platform teams Data Scientists in IT and Business units Business partners and program stakeholders.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
-
Expert level experience in relevant business domain, order fulfillment and logistics;
-
Experience querying SQL and/or NoSQL databases;
-
Experience managing data using APIs;
-
Experience manipulating data using scripting languages and/or data processing software (e.g. Python, R, Pipeline Pilot, ETL applications);
-
Experience profiling data, summarizing and reporting data quality metrics;
-
Demonstrated ability to deliver detailed technical documentation;
-
Experience coordinating programs across multiple functional organizations with proven ability to establish clear goals and set realistic timelines;
-
Applied experience with agile development, continuous deployment,DevOps, and decision science AI, ML, OR, etc.;
-
Knowledge of modern engineering technologies and data principles;
-
Experience participating in the creation of strategic technical solutions to challenging business problems;
-
Significant experience mentoring and guiding activities of junior team members and influencing across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
12 years experience (or10 years with Master Degree or 6y with PhD;
-
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Agriculture or other related field.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $127,200 to $190,800. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
