Responsibilities

Provides assistance to genetic counselors and staff to support genetic counseling within the clinic. Performs duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 3 years of experience in oncology, specifically working with cancer patients

  • Strong communication skills with diverse populations

  • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment

  • Demonstrated awareness and value of cultural competence

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point software programs

  • Knowledge of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Accreditation Standards

Work Hours: 8a-5p Weekend Requirements: No
