Overview

The Family Office of a high-net-worth family and their multiple business ventures and family trusts ("Trusts") located in Bozeman, Montana is seeking a Family Office Director. The Family Office Director serves as the central hub for overseeing financial, legal, tax and administrative affairs of a high-net-worth family and their multiple business ventures and family trusts ("Trusts"). The Director will assist with the oversight of the financial matters for personal, business and Trusts and will perform many tasks including providing accounting and tax services, prepare/assist with business and personal financial statements, quarterly tax estimates, serve as primary contact and coordinate with legal and tax advisors to formulate tax strategies, review strategic investments, assist with long-term wealth planning, coordinating with attorneys for estate planning and Trust management, maintain estate plans, Trusts, and family legacy structures and ensure tax efficiency, compliance with regulations, and coordination of complex estate planning matters, and provide administrative services for the Trusts.

This position serves as a trusted financial partner, collaborating with attorneys, CPAs, bankers, investment advisors, and insurance professionals to coordinate Trust administration, maximize financial performance, mitigate risk, preserve intergenerational wealth, execute a comprehensive long-term wealth preservation and growth strategy, provide support for intergenerational wealth planning and family governance strategy. The ideal candidate is willing to work diligently, has a strong financial acumen, is strategic, discreet, and highly organized, with experience in accounting and financial reporting, income taxes, estate and trust matters, providing administrative services and support for various entity types including family Trusts, investment analysis, which includes making investment recommendations, and wealth planning for high-net-worth individuals. The position requires maintaining a personal presence and residence in Bozeman, Montana.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field required, MBA, CPA, CFP, CFA preferred.

8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial preparation and reporting, wealth management, high-net-worth family office, or corporate finance.

Strong business acumen and investment sense, strategic thinker.

Exceptional discretion and trustworthiness: The role requires handling highly confidential financial and personal information with the utmost privacy.

This position will work closely with a family senior accountant.

Preferred: Experience in income tax, wealth management, estate and trust administration, legal, family office.

Preferred: Knowledge of trust structures, estate planning and tax strategy, investment portfolio strategy and analysis.

Preferred: Knowledge of legal and contractual issues.

Preferred: Ability to evaluate and conduct due diligence on investment opportunities (real estate, private businesses, venture, etc.).

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, confidential environment supporting high-net-worth individuals or executives or corporate finance.

Excellent communication, analytical thinking, financial modeling, and strategic planning skills.

High integrity, professionalism, and discretion are essential.

Collaborative and capable of working with multiple professionals.
