JOB SUMMARY:

The Prep & Trim Technician removes and replaces all components as required for paint.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sand entire vehicle or component, painted or unpainted.

  • Perform minor body work.

  • Wash entire vehicle or component.

  • Blowdown, metal prep and condition vehicle or component.

  • Mask, paper or grease components to be protected from paint.

  • Prime and paint assemblies or components where a fine finish is not required.

  • Demask, degrease vehicles or components. Apply stencils, labels, logos, sandpaint, nonskid etc., as required.

  • Clean entire vehicle or components of overspray, grease rust- proof, and dirt to ready product for shipment.

  • Drive vehicle as required in- to building from station to station and out of building and operate equipment as necessary.

  • Move parts carts by hand or with forklift.

  • Rustproof vehicle or components (certification required).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Use of simple arithmetic and some measuring instruments such as caliper, scale, etc.

  • Manufacturing experience.
