About DTMB: The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of State agencies through a variety of services including information technology project delivery, maintenance, and support. This position is within the DTMB Agency Services area supporting Office of the Governor (GOV), Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) & Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO). About this position: This position will function as the administrative manager for DTMB Agency Services Supporting the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO), with a focus on the Unemployment Insurance Agency. The administrative manager will be the second line manager for this work area and will be responsible for carrying out management duties for first line managers and their staff. The manager is responsible for leading the IT technical teams through the design, development, and implementation of software and system plans and performing other project related activities. Develops standard control mechanisms to manage IT software development products and updates including but not limited to risk management, quality assurance, and communication, issue and change management, and other project related controls. Manages the IT staff objectives that includes IT project efforts for completion within time and budget requirements, and to the customer's expectations. Providing direction and control of functions and activities in the work area including establishing priorities, allocating staff, and ensuring first line supervisors handle administrative, supervisory, and planning functions. The supervisory functions this position manages include employee evaluation, counseling, selection, provision of technical and policy guidance and training of employees.

You must be able to lead, manage, administer, and maintain control of the environment in high-pressure situations. Strong communications skills are a must. Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
