Job Title: Facilities EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to provide engineering oversight and technical support for all facility infrastructure systems. You will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing facility improvement, maintenance, and infrastructure renewal projects, ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering oversight and technical support for all facility infrastructure systems, including natural gas, wastewater, building utilities, and landscaping.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute facility improvement, maintenance, and infrastructure renewal projects while ensuring EH&S compliance.

  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, specifications, and procurement packages for facility upgrades, repairs, and capital improvement initiatives.

  • Analyze facility system performance and recommend engineering solutions for improvements.

  • Coordinate daily with maintenance personnel, contractors, and facility operators to support all infrastructure needs.

  • Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, design reviews, status updates, and presentations for management and customer stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline

  • 2+ years of engineering experience supporting facilities, utilities, infrastructure, building systems, public works, industrial operations, or related environments

  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, utility infrastructure, water/wastewater systems, HVAC equipment, natural gas systems, or facility operations

  • Experience managing engineering projects, contractors, schedules, budgets, and technical documentation

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building, utility, environmental, and safety regulations is a plus

Work Environment

The work environment is based at the Armstrong Test Facility, a vast 6,400-acre campus with multiple specialized buildings. The role requires oversight and planning of projects related to the facilities and structures across the campus. This position offers the opportunity to support the infrastructure behind aerospace research missions, providing exposure to complex utility systems, capital projects, and unique testing operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandusky, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $57.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
