About the role:
The Integration Engineer is responsible to successfully deliver integration of Crane Payment Innovations products and solutions into end user customer self-checkout, payment (cash/coin/ cashless/connectivity) and point of sale applications as well as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) payment solutions (cash/coin/ cashless/connectivity).
The candidate will learn and understand the architecture and requirements of new customer integrations, identify best strategy using existing CPI software tools, including which features require implementation, assist with eliminating unexpected behavior in customer integrations and recommend best practice approaches. This role requires performing integration of CPI products and solutions and/or assisting the customer technical integration team and ensuring faultless performance of CPI products in the applications.
The candidate will work from standard integration work processes, documentation and project oversight controls required to deliver CPI hardware, software, payment, and network solutions into customer systems such as Point of Sale systems, data exchange, 3rd party hardware, and on premise, wired or wireless networks.
The candidate will interface between the CPI customer, sales, product management and engineering to define technical integration gaps and requirements, improve engineering delivered SDK (Software Development Kit) packages for ease of integration and provide integration and programming guidance and direction to the customer technical teams.
Duties of the Integration Engineer:

Coordinate with CPI sales, product management, engineering and the customers to help define requirements for new solutions or new customer systems requiring integrations.

Understand and document customer architecture and requirements for new integrations.

Identify the best integration strategy, using existing CPI software tools, including which features require implementation to meet customer expectations.

Assist the customer’s technical implementation team during the development phase
-
Provide recommendations and corrections for technical documentation to improve ease of customer use and understanding to avoid future problems.

Assist the customer with test case validation of the application and integration to assure success.

Train the customer technical implementation team on the integration tools, operation of CPI devices and end user operation of CPI devices via train the trainer.
Responsibilities:

Independently lead integration projects of moderate complexity.

Act as the primary technical contact for customer integration efforts.

Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in the field.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve integration tools and documentation.

Engage in training activities both as a participant and, when appropriate, as a trainer

Up to 40% travel in region
Qualifications:
-
2–4 years of experience in system integration, preferably in POS/payment environment
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred; however, candidates with equivalent professional experience will also be considered
-
Proven experience in configuring and troubleshooting hardware/software integrations
-
Strong understanding of OS environments (Linux, Windows, Android)
-
Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Serial, USB)
-
Hands-on experience with APIs and middleware (REST, WebSocket, .NET, JPOS)

Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language (C#, Java) -Preferable

Ability to independently manage integration tasks and customer interactions

Experience with simulators or test automation tools is a plus
