What you'll do...
Role summary:
The Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders and coordinating with contractors. The position requires adherence to regulatory standards and company policies, safe operation of heavy machinery, and effective communication with team members. The technician supports continuous improvement efforts and contributes to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment aligned with Walmart’s operational goals and values.

The Facility Services General Maintenance team is composed of highly motivated, self-sustainable professionals dedicated to maintaining safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities and equipment. The team follows established preventive maintenance schedules, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborates effectively to address repair needs and improvements. Members operate specialized machinery, manage work orders, and coordinate with contractors to support business operations. The team values integrity, continuous learning, and teamwork to deliver reliable results that uphold company standards and contribute to a safe and efficient environment for all stakeholders.
What you'll do:

Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.

Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment, documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement requirements.

Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Order parts, track purchases, submit warranty claims, and conduct price comparisons to support maintenance activities.

Identify hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.

Collaborate with teams to implement processes that meet business needs and drive continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:

Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.

Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with certification and safety procedures.

Strong skills in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and EPA standards to ensure compliance and quality work.

Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with managers, co-workers, and contractors to meet business needs.

Detail-oriented approach to identifying deficiencies, recommending repairs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
