Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year-round including surfing, fishing, and hiking.
Duties
- The incumbent serves as the administrator for geographic information systems (GIS) in US Army Garrison Hawaii.
- Advises on common business practices, planning, policy, and program development for local use.
- Contributes to the development of guidelines, regulations, and policies concerning GIS and GPS usage in the US Army Garrison (USAG) area.
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to plan, coordinate, and accomplish all tasks necessary to support a variety of projects.
- Provides technical assistance to USAG Hawaii elements in solving unique or complicated engineering problems through state-of-the-art computer equipment and technology and a wide variety of computer applications used by the engineering profession.
- Coordinates Division training needs, presentation of training courses and preparation of operating protocol.
- Serves as the Division technical point of contact with the development and implementation of geographic information systems implementation plans.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience for GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes administering a comprehensive GIS program by maintaining digital databases to support projects, coordinating geospatial policy integration with various agencies to deliver critical mapping support, and scheduling work assignments on a long-range basis to develop plans for organizational. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

This is a(n) 29 Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
