Husbandry Assistant (Part Time) - SEA LIFE Dallas

As a Husbandry Assistant at SEA LIFE Dallas , you’ll be the Animal Welfare Host who helps keep our underwater world thriving every single day! You’ll work alongside our Displays team to support the daily care, feeding, and life-support system maintenance for a diverse collection of animals—ranging from elasmobranchs and fish to reptiles and invertebrates .

What You’ll Do 🐠🦈

• Perform routine animal care, cleaning, and aquarium display maintenance

• Use an enthusiastic, upbeat, and confident guest service style while demonstrating the Merlin Values in every interaction

• Support Displays staff with husbandry and life support to ensure excellent animal care standards

• Prepare diets, feed animals, and maintain aquatic exhibits following established protocols

• Help with specimen transports , including water quality testing , quarantine support , and assisting with fish health needs (including diagnosis and treatment support)

• Maintain accurate daily records for aquarium systems and animal exhibits

• Interact with guests, management, veterinarians, and others as needed to support animal welfare and daily operations

• Assist with ongoing improvements and development of display areas based on long-term company goals

• Perform daily public presentations when needed

• Take on other reasonable duties that support the team and the role

Qualifications & Experience

What You’ll Bring 🌟

• A High School Diploma or GED

• An interest in Science or Animal Care Fields; experience in or working towards a degree in these fields preferred

• This role is designed as a great first animal care position

• A willingness to learn and follow established animal care protocols

• A friendly, confident approach to guest interactions

• The ability to be enthusiastic, assertive, and passionate about helping animals thrive
