Job Description

Job Type TemporaryOverviewThis position will work as a temporary, short-term Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Science. The Department of Computer Science is home to 75 faculty working across research areas such as Computational Biology, Computer Architecture, Economics & Computation, Human-Computer Interaction, Law & Public Policy, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Programming Languages & Compilers, Robotics, Security & Privacy, Systems & Networking, Theory, and Vision & Graphics. Computer Science faculty also collaborate with schools, centers and programs across campus, including the School of Public & International Affairs, the Lewis Siegler Institute for Integrative Genomics, the Center for Statistics and Machine Learning, the Center for Information Technology Policy, the DeCenter, Princeton Language and Intelligence, Princeton Neuroscience Institute, and Princeton Precision Health. Responsibilities- Perform research on topics assigned by the faculty supervisor- Complete literature reviews, data analysis, experiments and write-ups- Attend weekly progress meetings and share recent findings- Work towards publication of the research QualificationsEssential Qualifications: - Minimum education - BS in Computer Science. Some positions may require an MSE in Computer Science or a PhD.- Previous demonstrated research experience- Proficiency with programming languages, statistical software and other tools necessary to complete the research project- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write scientific papers- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills- Strong data analysis skills- Intellectual curiosity and perseverance Preferred Qualifications: - Previous research experience at a top-tier research institution- Accepted papers at peer-reviewed conferences or accepted publications at major journals- Ability to add value to a research project Be advised that you will be contacted only if there is further interest in your application.
