Operational Specialist-Oxnard, CA
Responsible for unit/plant operations, ensuring adherence to established timing, quality, and cost standards, as well as personnel management. Oversees plant operations, including QHSE requirements and personnel management. Plans, staffs, organizes, and supervises personnel. Manages personnel administrative tasks and disciplinary measures. Ensures the proper functioning of facilities and the attainment of production goals set by plant management. Facilitates training on production processes and optimizations. Provides orientation for new hires. Resolves production disturbances. Communicates and shares information within the unit and with key interfaces regarding production goals and facility changes. Documents current production processes versus standard production requirements. Maintains housekeeping of the workplace.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Operational Specialist, are to:

Support squads in their needs to run daily production activities, enabling them to execute daily production schedule to deliver the best product and customer experience;

Be an escalation resource for troubleshooting and problem solving point for tasks and projects prioritization, problem solving, continuous improvement, conflict resolution - prioritizing the squads’ self- organization first;
-
Optimizes squad members performance and development through empowerment and DSO principles, displaying VACC behaviors, coaching, feedback, discipline;

Helps driving OnePSS practices across squads, acting as a champion;
-
Close connection with other operational coaches and E2E mission team member to ensure that the squad is receiving the support/resources they need;

Actively engaging in Tier 2 and Tier 3 meetings to challenge and promote productive discussions;

Gemba walks one or multiple times a week Supports squads to achieve appropriate staffing of shifts/areas, including absences coverages - prioritizing the squads’ self- organization first and being as escalation point when needed Inspire the development, exploration, and execution of creative ideas in rapid cycles (90 Days);

Helps employees develop capabilities and mindsets to thrive and foster inclusion and empowerment;

Helps to educate the team towards tracking financial performance on squad level;

Guides the team towards operational improvements, metrics tracking and implementation of best practices through team members and along with peers;

Represents and contributes on squad level involvement/engagement to cultivate trust in the community;

Drives improvement of QMS systems that enable delivery of quality products that meet/exceed stakeholder and customer quality expectations;

Focal point for Time & Attendance and other HROPs support;
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree;
-
Understanding of industry procedures/protocols with Legal/Labor Relations, Regulatory, SSHE and Quality requirements;

Prioritization and escalation, maturity;

Strong technical competences;

Ability to influence individuals and teams;

Customer Centric Thinking;

Strong people and process orientation;

Collaborative and innovative thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree disciplines: Business, Engineering, Agriculture, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or related field with 5+ years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing;

Prior leadership experience through direct reports or managing a team of employees through project management;
-
Fluent in Spanish;
-
Advanced VACC competencies as defined for Crop Science Product Supply;
-
Advanced end-to-end understanding of seed processing plant operations.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $83,280.00 - $124,920.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
