Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an engineer who can bridge product development and real-world data center deployment. This role focuses on ensuring new thermal and power products are fully serviceable, deployable, and ready for field execution before launch. The ideal candidate understands how individual products come together as an integrated data center solution and has experience supporting commissioning, deployment readiness, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.

  • Lead serviceability and deployment readiness activities for OneCore (pre-fabricated data centers) and NPDI (new product development) initiatives.

  • Represent Services during design reviews, product reviews, and development phase gates.

  • Develop installation procedures, commissioning plans, troubleshooting guides, and deployment playbooks.

  • Evaluate deployment risks and perform FMEA activities to improve field execution and serviceability.

  • Support beta deployments, first-article startups, and new product launches.

  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Technical Support to ensure successful implementation of new technologies.

  • Establish spare parts strategies, logistics planning, and service readiness requirements.

  • Monitor field performance and drive continuous improvement feedback into product development teams.

  • Ensure thermal, power, and integrated systems are ready for scalable deployment across customer data center environments. Ideal Background Candidates typically come from:

  • Controls Engineering

  • Commissioning Engineering

  • Serviceability / Field Engineering

  • Product Deployment Engineering

  • Thermal or Power Systems Engineering This person thrives at putting all the pieces together, turning new technologies into deployable, serviceable solutions that can be successfully implemented across global data center environments.

Salary: 140-165k

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Engineering Physics, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting new product development (NPD/NPDI) and product lifecycle processes.
  • Strong understanding of system-level thermal and electrical technologies, including cooling, power, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with data center, mission-critical, facilities, commissioning, or integrated systems deployments.
  • Ability to develop deployment procedures, SOPs, commissioning workflows, and service documentation.
  • Experience conducting failure mode analysis (FMEA), risk assessments, and root cause investigations.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. (AutoCAD, Revitt, etc.)
  • Experience with liquid cooling, thermal management, or high-density cooling technologies.
  • Experience with AC/DC power systems, UPS, power distribution, or critical infrastructure.
  • PMP, Engineering Management, MBA, or advanced Engineering degree.
  • Data center controls, commissioning, or facilities management experience.
  • Familiarity with APQP and standard product development lifecycle processes.
