Full job description
The Medical Biller is responsible for the review and evaluation of medical claims which includes proper identification of the patient, and verification of the exam(s) performed, the ordering physician or non physician practitioner, and the documents on file that substantiate the service.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review ETech Log for accuracy of patient’s seen.

Review Manual Tech Log and ETech Log for accuracy of patient’s seen for those techs who are on a 90 day probation.

Consistently and accurately verify designated fields on patient claims. This is achieved by reviewing information provided in the medical record.

Responsible for updating patient and insurance information as necessary.

Responsible for contacting clients directly to obtain critical missing information as needed.

Responsible for contacting insurance companies to obtain Pre-Authorizations as needed.

Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of guidelines and relevant federal regulations through the use of current CPT books, and ICD-10 materials, Federal register, and other pertinent materials.

Cross train in the 5 billing work queues – MBI Medicare, Missing Payor, Billing, Dr Mobilex & MBI Replacement Plan

Attend and participate in department meetings.

Required overtime as needed to meet departmental goals.

Perform other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization.
Pay Rate : $16-19 per hour
