Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing Solid Rocket Motor Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of thermal analysis principles and experience with industry-standard thermal analysis tools. In this role, you will conduct detailed thermal analyses of solid rocket motor components, collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, interface with customers, and contribute to technical excellence across programs.

Skills and Requirements

6-10+ years of thermal analysis experience. Direct experience supporting Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) programs.

Experience performing thermal analysis of SRM components, insulation systems, and thermal protection systems.

Experience with thermal modeling, thermal performance prediction, and validation using test data. Experience with ablative materials and thermal protection systems (TPS).

Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree.

Thermal ablatives experience.

CHAR experience preferred or related

Experience developing ablation and erosion models.

Open to 25% travel Experience defining or supporting material characterization testing.

Reentry vehicle, missile, propulsion, or space systems experience.

CFD experience supporting thermal analyses.
