Position Overview

Tesla is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support the execution of major site infrastructure and construction activities at its Corpus Christi Lithium Refinery. This individual will play a critical role in coordinating civil construction scopes, managing contractor relationships, supporting commercial execution, and driving project progress across multiple workstreams.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree and 1-3 years of engineering or construction experience. Tesla is particularly interested in candidates who have gained hands-on construction exposure through internships, co-ops, field engineering assignments, or previous trade experience before completing their degree.

This position offers an opportunity to work on one of the most innovative industrial construction projects in the country while collaborating with engineering, procurement, project controls, construction, and contractor teams.

Responsibilities Project Execution & Contract Administration Support the administration of prime contracts and subcontract agreements. Assist with change order management and contract modifications throughout project execution. Protect Tesla's commercial interests while supporting successful project delivery. Review contractor performance and support scope management activities. Procurement & Contractor Management Develop and coordinate bid packages for civil construction scopes. Participate in contractor evaluations and selection processes. Support procurement efforts and contractor onboarding activities. Collaborate with contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives, schedule requirements, and site standards. Construction Coordination Coordinate civil construction activities with engineering, procurement, project controls, and field construction teams. Support project planning and execution activities across multiple contractors and disciplines. Monitor field progress and identify risks that may impact schedule, budget, or site readiness. Assist with issue resolution to maintain project momentum and critical path activities. Project Reporting & Communication Track project progress and key deliverables. Communicate project status, risks, and critical path items to leadership and project stakeholders. Support project meetings and maintain accurate records of decisions and action items. Develop reports and analyses to support project decision-making. Safety & Team Collaboration Promote Tesla's safety culture and ensure adherence to site safety requirements. Support a high-performance project environment focused on accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with construction managers, engineers, contractors, and project leadership teams. Project Scopes

Skills and Requirements

Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering 1-3 years of professional engineering or construction experience Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Internship, co-op, or field engineering experience supporting construction projects Heavy Civil, Industrial Construction, Infrastructure, Energy, Manufacturing, or EPC project experience Exposure to contract administration and change management Experience coordinating contractors and field activities Knowledge of project scheduling and construction sequencing Previous trade or construction field experience prior to obtaining engineering degree
