POSITION SUMMARY

The Supervisor oversees the daily activities of the Explore program, including supervision of group facilitators and client care coordinators, as needed. The Supervisor provides leadership, motivation and support to staff, co-facilitates domestic violence group services for court/probation referred individuals when needed and ensures the integrity of the program model.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

MA/MS degree in Social Services, Criminal Justice or related field, plus 1 year experience, or a BA/BS degree plus 3 years experience in working with criminal justice populations, group facilitation and domestic violence is required. Supervisory experience strongly encouraged.

Demonstrated ability and/or exceptional performance within a CSSD funded or Wheeler program may be substituted for experience or education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides oversight and leadership to domestic violence programs within the department by implementing, promoting, and sustaining best practice models of intervention.

Provides consistent supervision and crisis support to staff.

Recruits program staff and addresses retention and disciplinary action as needed in accordance with HR policy.

Works with Associate Director/Program Manager to develop, monitor, and analyze program performance and outcomes.

Interfaces and collaborates with funders and referral sources to promote Wheeler Clinic's reputation as a quality service provider.

Ensures program compliance with accurate and timely weekly, monthly and/or quarterly data collection and submission requirements.

Serves as role model for staff to promote strong work ethic and adherence to model specific approaches.

Ensures that staff provide culturally competent care and maintains sensitivity to and respect for clients' cultural traditions, values, and beliefs.

Provides regularly scheduled supervision to clinicians, client care coordinators, or other program staff as assigned consistent with the program model.

Attends required clinical supervision meetings and assists with arranging and monitoring the staff training to ensure that training needs are met.

Provides coverage for staff responsibilities and program on-call coverage in accordance with departmental program practices.

Effectively facilitates program orientation for newly referred clients and facilitates or co-facilitates psycho-educational groups for CSSD referred clients.

Oversees the orientation of new staff.

Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
