Position Summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) seeks an Engineering Technician III / Quality Control Specialist III to support the HYDRA/SWICS Radio Program within PBLO operations supporting Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic). This position provides hands-on technical and quality-control support for the inspection, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, repair, and sustainment of radio communications equipment and associated electronic components.

The successful candidate will apply practical electronics knowledge, sound technical judgment, and attention to detail to ensure equipment meets approved performance and workmanship requirements. Responsibilities include evaluating equipment condition, performing authorized maintenance, verifying completed repairs, documenting inspection results, and maintaining accurate equipment and maintenance records. The position reports through SSI supervision and coordinates with technical, logistics, and quality personnel to support program requirements and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities

The employee performs technical assignments that are not fully standardized or prescribed, selecting or adapting established procedures and equipment using applicable technical precedents. Initial instructions, equipment requirements, and technical guidance are provided by a supervisor or engineer as needed. Recurring work is performed independently, with completed assignments reviewed for technical adequacy and conformity with instructions.

Duties include assembling or adapting components and subassemblies using approved drawings and technical instructions, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and performing corrective maintenance within authorized repair limits. The employee selects, prepares, and operates appropriate test equipment; conducts required tests; and records results.

Rate $31.85/hr
