Job Summary

As the Director of Nursing, your main responsibility is to plan, direct, and coordinate nursing practices and services. You play a key role in patient healthcare. Providing clinical leadership helps set strategic goals aligned with our organization's vision. Your efforts greatly improve healthcare quality at Baylor Scott and White Health.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • You'll oversee nursing services and implement plans.

  • Keep track of productivity and standards.

  • Advance quality improvement priorities and report progress to senior management.

  • Your role includes handling incidents, dissecting patterns for improvements. Building relationships with other departments enhances patient satisfaction.

  • You will conduct clinical rounds to meet patient needs. You must ensure adherence to healthcare regulations.

  • You will create metrics and tools to measure service effectiveness.

  • You are responsible for seamless team communication and cooperation with medical staff for patient care.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth through coaching, feedback, mentoring, and development opportunities that empower team members to achieve individual and organizational goals.

  • Promote a patient-centered environment by actively engaging frontline caregivers, seeking input from bedside staff, and implementing strategies that enhance employee engagement, retention, quality outcomes, and the patient experience.

  • Champion shared governance principles by facilitating staff participation in decision-making, supporting unit-based councils, encouraging evidence-based practice, and empowering team members to influence clinical and operational outcomes.

Key Success Factors

  • Proficient in problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication.

  • Able to cooperatively collaborate with varied departments within a sophisticated healthcare organization.

  • Master's degree preferred, but not required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree

  • EXPERIENCE - (3) Three Years of Experience

  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitate (CPR): BLS or CPR Required.
