Join us and be part of something bigger – helping to simplify health care one person, one family and one community at a time.

The SVP, Chief Marketing Officer leads a high-performing team of marketing and creative professionals to innovate, develop, and scale digital and brand capabilities that drive business growth. As a key member of the PSS Executive Committee, this leader is responsible for shaping and executing a multi-year marketing strategy that elevates CVS Caremark’s differentiated value proposition across all business units—including CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty, CVS Healthspire, and Wellpartner—and across diverse audiences such as payors, members, patients, prescribers, and pharmaceutical partners.

The ideal candidate will bring deep B2B marketing and sales experience, with a proven ability to operate at the pace and cadence of high-performing sales teams. They must demonstrate an “outside-in” mindset, consistently grounding strategies in market realities and client needs. This leader will build and sustain a strong external presence across digital platforms, industry conferences, publications, and thought leadership forums. Equally important, they will define and champion a distinct identity for the PBM business—one that leverages the strength of the CVS Health enterprise while maintaining clarity and differentiation in the marketplace.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, differentiated marketing strategy that supports the distinct business objectives of aligned segment P&Ls including CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty, CVS Healthspire, and Wellpartner.
  • Achieve revenue growth, financial goals, and transformational vision of the PBM and enterprise businesses.
  • Develop and execute a digital first agenda to ensure a best-in-class payor, member, prescriber, and pharmaceutical partner experience.
  • Establish integrated, cross-functional relationships across people, processes, technology, and key stakeholders—internal and external—to drive strategic alignment, prioritize investments, and execute core and growth initiatives.
  • Attract and develop talent necessary to develop and execute our strategy capable of executing today while anticipating and leading the evolution into the future.

Qualifications The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

Transformational Leadership & Strategic Impact

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation, integrating bold vision with disciplined execution.
  • 20+ years in marketing or related fields, with deep marketplace insight and strategic execution capabilities.
  • Ability to proactively reshape business models, drive durable value, and set new standards for transparency and client partnership.
  • Strong financial stewardship, including P&L ownership and budget optimization across CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty, CVS Healthspire, and Wellpartner.

Client-Centricity & Market Differentiation

  • Relentless focus on client needs, with the ability to elevate CVS Caremark’s sales story and market positioning.
  • Deep understanding of the payor/PBM industry, competitive landscape, and evolving market dynamics.
  • Skilled at leading through complexity and ambiguity to deliver consultative, responsive strategies.

Marketing & Digital Excellence

  • Rich expertise in product portfolios, channels, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Technical proficiency in digital UX/UI, web development, content management, analytics, and search.
  • Deep knowledge of marketing technology, tools, and tactics to modernize reporting and deliver data-driven insights.
  • Experience in advertising and digital solutions delivery.

Talent Development & Cultural Stewardship

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including building high-performing teams and developing future-ready talent.
  • Leadership style grounded in empowerment, accountability, and resilience—moving leaders from “doers” to “enablers.”
  • Proven ability to foster a culture of open dialogue, trust, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to transparent communication and team alignment to sustain momentum and navigate change fatigue.

Adaptive Thinking & Future-Ready Competencies

  • Mastery of adaptive thinking, emotional intelligence, learning agility, and systems thinking.
  • Strong digital fluency and inclusive leadership aligned with CVS Caremark’s transformation agenda.
  • Advanced impact and influence skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
