Position Title: Preventive Maintenance Roofing Crew Department: Maintenance Supervisor: Roofing Crew Leader/Maintenance Shift/Construction Supervisor Term of Employment: 12 Month Salary Classification: 12

Job Summary: Works on crew assignments inspecting various roofing throughout the district, including metal, rolled, single ply, asphaltic shingles and foam. Cleans and repairs roofs, gutters and parapets as needed.

Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks, duties, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents in this class.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Inspects and cleans roofs and gutters.
  • Small repairs to roofs and gutters and parapets.
  • Performs tasks using safe work practices.
  • Uses the proper personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains the care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of all types of roofing.
  • Skills in using power equipment and hand tools.
  • Skills in using ladders and scissor lifts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high School Diploma or GED, and at least two years' experience in roofing.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold or obtain a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • Must have at the time of application and must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
