Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Java Application Support Consultant for an immediate contract opportunity with a client that needs critical production support for a business application. This role is ideal for a hands-on Java professional who can quickly diagnose application issues, restore production stability, and establish a more reliable support model moving forward. This position is 1-2 days. Apply today!

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within a Java-based application environment

• Diagnose and remediate SSL certificate and secure connectivity issues

• Review, update, and validate Java runtime (JRE/JDK) configurations

• Rebuild, repackage, or regenerate Java application artifacts (JAR files) as needed

• Utilize Eclipse or similar Java development tools to support application maintenance and updates

• Support deployment, testing, and validation across Linux environments

• Identify root causes of recurring application failures and implement sustainable solutions

• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to accelerate production readiness

• Establish documentation, support procedures, and ownership practices to reduce future reactive support incidents

• Provide recommendations for ongoing application maintenance and operational support

Requirements

• Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting Java applications in production environments

• Experience working with Java application packaging and deployment (JAR files)

• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates, certificate renewal, and secure application communications

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Java runtime environments (JRE/JDK)

• Hands-on experience with Linux administration and application deployments

• Experience using Eclipse or similar Java IDEs

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with urgent business priorities
