Job Description
Insight Global is currently seeking an Estimator / Project Manager to join a client in the commercial construction industry. This individual will lead both preconstruction and project execution efforts with a primary focus on acoustical ceilings, specialty ceiling systems, wall panels, wood features, glass systems, access flooring, column covers, and related interior finishes. Responsibilities include preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, developing accurate estimates, evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and assembling complete bid packages for commercial construction projects. Once projects are awarded, this person will oversee budgets, schedules, procurement activities, change orders, contract administration, and customer communication while coordinating closely with field teams and project stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include conducting site visits, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, tracking project costs, resolving field issues, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate is a motivated professional who brings strong estimating capabilities, a positive attitude, and the desire to contribute to a collaborative, culture-driven team environment. Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years of estimating and/or project management experience in commercial construction
- Experience with acoustical ceiling systems, specialty ceilings, ceiling grids, wall panels, and related interior systems
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), specifications, and construction documents
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and bid preparation
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships
- Knowledge of change order management, contract administration, and project cost controls
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanGrid, OnCenter, QuickBid, BuzzBid, or similar estimating software
- Ability to conduct site visits and coordinate with field operations teams
- Strong estimating background with the ability to quickly contribute in a production environment
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Team-oriented mindset with proven ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit office environment
- Stable work history demonstrating long-term commitment and career progression
- Experience with Armstrong, USG, CertainTeed, Rockfon, Hunter Douglas, or other acoustical ceiling manufacturers
- Experience with specialty interior scopes including wood ceilings, wood wall panels, glass systems, access flooring, and column covers
- Experience with drywall, metal stud framing, acoustical wall panels, and specialty ceiling systems
- Experience working for specialty subcontractors focused on ceilings and architectural interior finishes
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience managing healthcare, education, government, hospitality, mixed-use, or large commercial projects
- Candidates who can step into projects with minimal ramp-up time
- Experience mentoring junior team members or supporting long-term branch growth initiatives
